- The Blue Leg Hermit Crab, (Clibanarius tricolor) is good at removing hair algae and detritus, and fair at removing some kinds of cyanobacteria and film algae from your tank.
Margarita Turbos require very little attention once introduced and need only be kept in a well-established reef tank with plenty of algae and live rock.
- The Serpent Star will spend much of its time along live rockwork and will come out most often at night. They usually should not be housed with feather dusters as they can eat them.
The Feather Duster is usually found in the coral rubble at the base of the reef aquarium, with some of the rubble being incorporated into its parchment-like tube. It needs to be housed in a well-established reef system as it is dependent upon plankton for its diet. It is very intolerant of copper-based medications.
- The Harlequin Shrimp, Hymenocera picta, is a uniquely banded and colored invertebrate. It is a pasty clear/pink colors with reddish spots across its body and claws. Its legs have some black or dark stripes.
- This peaceful omnivore will effectively clean even the largest home aquarium of detritus and left over food. Like other starfish, the Sand Sifting Sea Star will also consume small invertebrates, including shrimp, urchins, mollusks, bivalves, or other small sea stars.
The Blood Red Fire Shrimp, Lysmata debelius, gets its name from its deep, blood-red coloration along with its brilliant white spots across is carapace and appendages. It is without question one of the most vibrant and attractive invertebrate species available. It is a cleaner shrimp that will remove necrotic tissue and parasites from fish. They will often form symbiotic relationships with these fish as the stuff they clean off of them make for a tasty meal.
The Cleaner Shrimp, Lysmata amboinensis, also known as the Skunk Cleaner Shrimp or Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp is aptly named for its amazing ability to clean the junk and parasites off of fish. They will not discriminate and clean parasites from fish of all shapes, sizes, and aggression levels. When not cleaning, the Cleaner Shrimp will spend its time hiding inside rockwork caves.
